Live dhol-tasha and lezim
Traditional Maharashtrian percussion troupes bring the streets alive. No recorded track will ever match hundreds of people in sync.
Marathi and Indian food
Modak, misal, sabudana khichdi, chai. Not fusion, not adapted — the food you actually miss.
Family friendly, always
Kids drawing corners, workshops, and a space where three generations celebrate together without translation.
Volunteer run, not ticketed
Nothing to buy, nothing to book. Show up, join in, and if you have time, help set up.

Ganeshotsav Berlin Set to Receive Official Recognition as Maharashtra Rajya Puraskrut Mahotsav
In a landmark development for Indian cultural diplomacy in Europe, Ganeshotsav Berlin is set to be officially recognised as a 'Maharashtra Rajya Puraskrut Mahotsav' (Maharashtra State-Honoured Festival) under the Government of Maharashtra's prestigious Rajya Mahotsav programme.

- When exactly is Ganeshotsav Berlin 2026?
- From September 14-26, 2026. The festival opens on Monday, September 14, 2026 and closes with the Grand Visarjan Miravnuk on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
- Do I need a ticket or an invitation?
- No. Entry is free and open to everyone. Just show up.
- Is this only for the Indian community?
- Not at all. Anyone who wants to come is welcome. Food, aarti, dhol-tasha, and the procession are all open to the public.
- Do I need to speak Hindi, Marathi, or German?
- No. Signage and announcements are in English and German. Someone will always help if you have a question.
- Where does the festival take place?
- Sri Ganesha Hindu Tempel, Hasenheide 106, 10967 Berlin. See the venue page for directions.
- Can I bring my kids?
- Yes. There are dedicated kids activities, a drawing corner, and everything is family friendly across all ten days.
- How can I help?
- Volunteer. The festival runs entirely on volunteers — setup, food, coordination, culture, logistics. Applications for 2026 are open on the volunteer page.
- Can I donate?
- Yes. Everything you see is paid for by community donations and small sponsors. Any amount helps keep the festival free and open.
